8 important things to make your Mobile App rock!

Mobile App creation has really captured the market and we see thousands of apps getting released every day. There are different ideas/concepts with thousands of talented people around and the ideas are flowing out of their minds every now and then. Mobile app developers help them bring these ideas into reality. These Mobile app developers could be freshers, just out of college (or even students) who love experimenting, learning and they enjoy this process of learning altogether or there could be experienced ones who have worked on different versions and various platforms of app development since the beginning.

There are certain important things to consider while developing the mobile app.

1. Target group

First and foremost for whom the app is being developed needs to be defined. This means the end user who would be using it on daily basis. Is the targeted user group technical or non-technical? What would be user age group? All these points need to be considered.

2. Download size and time:

Keep the file size of the app as minimum as possible plus check on the screen transition time and keep it to the minimum. Don’t keep your customers waiting. Make sure that file size is small and it does not consume more data.

3. Thorough market research:

Before starting your app development conduct a thorough market research. With so many apps in the market, mobile users are looking for something new or different in the app you are presenting. It is not just a different look but it would be the functionality that will make your app standout.

4. Screen size:

The mobile screen size is very small as compared to the desktop so one must take care not to club too many features in a single screen. Keep it simple with simple screens and minimum tabs per screen.

5. UI & UX - Usability

This would be the most important factor to consider because people will use the app if and only if they find it simple and handy. Here the screen size is also smaller as compared to desktop or laptop so UX and UI play a crucial role. Even if your app has great functionality no one will use it if it is not user-friendly. To achieve this, keep the screen flow or application flow simple. Each screen needs to have limited buttons or menus and the user should be able to do his task in just a few clicks. It is important to note that the UX/UI and the purpose of your mobile app need to be coherent. While designing, the developers and designers must think of battery consumption as well. Complex algorithms might drain the battery to a great extent.

6. Application for various platforms

Android, iOS, and Windows are the most dominating platforms for a mobile app as there are the most number of users associated with these platforms. While developing an app, it would be important to make it compatible with such different platforms, if you want to tap a wider market.

7. Testing of the app

Once the app development is complete, get it tested by the testing team and then by the entire staff and if possible invite your existing customers to check the features of the app before launching it to the market. Share the app with them, let them play around a bit and they will be coming up with some interesting suggestions.

8. Market your app well

Marketing plays a very important role in any product or service. You have a great app but what if people are not aware of its features and usage. Through marketing, you must make people aware of the app, its features, its uses, how useful it could be for individual customers. Make the best possible use of Social media through Youtube videos, Twitter updates, LinkedIn profiles and Facebook Share.
